My name is Ticha Reyes, and I am 29 yrs old. I was very unhappy with myself on the outside, as well as on the inside. One day, I decided it was time to make a positive change in my life. I put it off for a long time, and finally told myself that I was going to stop making excuses and make a change for the better.

 

I joined Mike’s bootcamp classes in February 2009.  When I first started the classes with Mike, I thought there was no way!  I was not going to make it through one class let alone make it eight months!  I am very happy that I stuck with the classes.  They have transformed me on the outside, as well as on the inside.

               

To date I have lost 80Ibs!  I went from a size 16 to a size 5. I have a lot more energy, and I am a lot more confident in myself. This has shown me that I am a lot stronger than I thought I was.  I also know that I can achieve anything that I set my mind to. I now know that with hard work, and determination, I can achieve my goal to a happy healthier life.

 

Mike is an excellent trainer who is willing to go above and beyond his job as a trainer to help you reach your goal. Mike is a fun loving person who cares about all his clients.  He makes you feel comfortable but at the same time pushes you to make sure you are successful in reaching your goals. He makes training with him fun, and exciting, there’s always something new to look forward to when training with Mike.

Hi my name is Melinda Arnold I am in my early 50's and have had a weight problem for most of my life.  I was at the point of looking into gastric bypass when I happened to be dragged on a Saturday afternoon into the Workout Factory by my sister and two friends.  I am embarrassed to admit I was almost 300 pounds.   I knew I needed someone to help me learn how to use the weights and put together a program for me that was designed just for me.  My friends thought I was crazy when I said the first thing I want is a trainer.  They said Melinda trainers are way too expensive.  I said I don't care what the cost is I'm worth the investment.didn't care.    

I started out with another trainer had some success but then in February 2009 I began working with Mike.  I want to say that switching to Mike as my trainer was the best decision I've ever made.  At 300 pounds lifting weights can be very intimidating.  But Mike made me feel
very safe and confident that I could do it.  He takes pride in his art and shows a true caring attitude as long as you are serious about getting fit. 

I am thrilled to say that since I began to work with Mike I've lost 100 pounds.  My cholesterol went from 257 down to 198.  My HDL/LDL ratio dropped down to 3.74.  My doctor didn't even recognize me when I went for my last visit.  Not because I haven't been seen by the doctor but because in my doctor's words, "WOW have you changed!  My doctor asked me if I was still working with my trainer I said yes.  He asked me how much my trainer charged per hour.  I told him.  He said, well your trainer is worth every penny.  That man knows his stuff!  The last thing my doctor said was, you know what's different about you?  You are so happy!  Yes I am, because Mike gave me my life back and helped me to see that with determination I can do anything. 

The funny thing is that when you have a lot of weight to lose you need someone that doesn't make you feel ashamed or embarrassed.  You need someone that you can form a trust with and I found that trust in Mike Pastor.  He is worth every penny and more!

My name is Tony Ruvolo and I am 51 years old. On April 2008 I met my Personal Trainer Mike Pastor at the Workout Factory to start my training to get back into shape. When I first started training with Mike my body fat % 29.7 and i weighed 203 pounds with a 43 inch waist.
 
I was on four different perscriptions for Diabetes and my doctor had told me that he would have to put me on insulin if i didnt get my blood sugar under control. I was also on three different perscriotions for Cholesterol. My left shoulder, left elbow, right shoulder and lower back were in constant pain. I have a plate and ten screws in my right ankle, a plate and seven screws in my left ankle with one loose screw.I have tried  the treadmill at home routine (i could only go 2.5), only to find that after a while i would quit exercising and months later resume, usually around the holidays.

I am pleased to say now that i can fit a 32 in. waist pants. my total cholestrol results have went down from 2 68 to 139, with no medication. that is seven medications, four for diabetes and three for cholesterol that i no longer take. my blood sugar has also gone down lower. i am still on no medication only diet and exercise. i can run at 12 mph on the treadmill now for 39 seconds. my body fat is now 10.7%.

Using a combination of boxing cardio and weight training. I am physically stronger and feel better than when I was on my medication. Going from seven to currently taking no medications. Working one on one WIth Mike  really made a big change in my life style. I learned to eat healthy as well as fit exercise into my life. Mike has an style that really motivates you to stick to the program and live a better healthier lifestyle.

I trained with Mike Pastor from December 2008 to September 2009.  I was able to lose over 50 lbs through Mike’s boxing boot camp.  I initially joined my girlfriend in the class in December, knowing I wanted to get in shape.  I continued through January and at the beginning of February, I decided to change the way I ate.  I used Mike’s nutrition guide along with the class and in February alone, I was able to lose 10 lbs and 7% body fat!

Mike’s boxing boot camp provides a good mix of weight training and cardio.  His class is designed so that a beginner and a more experienced client can work out in the same class, but each at their own pace.  As I progressed, I was able to push myself harder as Mike encouraged me to use heavier weights and more intense cardio.  He incorporated advance training techniques including power lifting and plyometrics.

After a couple months of Mike’s class, I noticed my overall level of fitness had drastically improved.  Prior to Mike’s boxing boot camp, I despised running.  One day I decided to hop on a treadmill and found I could run 2 miles fairly easy.  Since then, I placed 2nd in my age group at a 5 mile race and I’ve run in three 5K races.  Most recently, I tested my fitness level while snowboarding in Vermont.  I felt like I was going to die last year while hiking for some backcountry riding. This year I was able to march up the mountain with ease.

The best part of my experience with Mike is that he shared his vast fitness knowledge with me and I am now prepared and motivated to do it on my own.
